General Event Rules:
1 - Captains must select team members of 18yrs or over.
2 - Kayakers must be qualified to race on the Clare Glens i.e. they must have the relevant skill and experience level to kayak on the race course with rapids of up to Class V difficulty without scouting for approxmately 15-20min. If competitors are deemed to be unqualifed by the organisers they will not be permited to participate in the event.
3 - In general, participants of the event will be responsible for their own safety.
4 - Place of residency decides qualification i.e. Kayakers living in the Limerick area qualify for Limerick Teams.
5 - The majority of paddlers on the team must be from the teams area i.e. for ULKC at least two members must be members of ULKC.
6 - Rules and event format are sublect to change at the organisers descretion based on water conditions, access etc.

Team Race Rules :

1 - Paddlers will obey the instructions of the race officials.
2 - Paddlers will have responsibility for their own safety whilst on the river. Each team is required to carry throwropes, rescue gear and a mobile phone.
3 - Paddlers will be responsible for their own rescue. Bank support will be provided by the race organisers.
4 - Boats used in the race must be in good condition, they must have center support, a keyhole cockpit and be less than 270cm in length.
6 - The team race will start from the upstream side of the first footbridge below constricor and finish at the upstream side of the bridge at the take out.
7 - Time will start and stop when the last member of the team passes under the upstream side of the start/finish line.
8 - Rules and event format are sublect to change at the organisers descretion based on water conditions, access etc.

Individual Race Rules:

1 - Paddlers will obey the instructions of the race officials.
2 - Paddlers will have responsibility for they're own safety whilst on the river.
3 - Paddlers will be responsible for they're own rescue. Bank support will be provided by the race organisers.
4 - Boats used in the race must be in good condition, they must have center support, a keyhole cockpit and be less than 270cm in length.
5 - The race will start from the fallen tree in the pool above the run in to Big Eas and finish in the Eddy on the river right below Little Eas.
6 - Time will start when the last paddler passes under the fallen tree in the pool above the run in to Big Eas.
7 - Time will end when the last paddler rings the bell in the river right eddy below Little Eas.
8 - Rules and event format are sublect to change at the organisers descretion based on water conditions, access etc.
